U.S. National Cyber Talent Search: Cyber Aces

Posted on 11:38 by Unknown

The U.S. National Cyber Talent Search (for veterans, college students, high school students, and job switchers) launched on Monday, with sponsorship by the Governors in many states. Every registered candidate gets free training with almost-SANS-quality courses and then gets to demonstrate her/his skills in a series of increasingly challenging competitions that have proven remarkably effective in finding talent. More than 1,000 people registered in the first 72 hours; Illinois, Massachusetts, and California are leading the nation with Minnesota coming up fast. Winners will get substantial scholarships for advanced training and guaranteed residencies/internships (paid) at cool companies and government agencies.  Registration will be open for two more weeks and includes free courses (on the three fundamentals of cybersecurity) before the first competition runs. There is no cost as this program critical to any nation's security.  If you know someone with latent (or demonstrated cyber skills) tell them to sign up now

(http://www.cyberaces.org/) so they can take the courses in time to do well in the competitions.
